World without Borders – Ukraine part two
Hello again!
This post is going to conclude my experience in Ukraine, in incredible Ukraine, namely the two days spent visiting Odessa.
When I wrote the first part of my journey in Ukraine (http://alexapetrei.wordpress.com/2010/04/25/new-horizons-ukraine-one-aiesec/) I spoke mostly about the experience I had during the amazing New Horizons conference, but that`s not all that happened:)
So after I finished and published that post, from Angelica`s house (thank you again for your hospitality), I went on for a nice walk around Mariupol and for a supermarket to buy coffee and Red Bull. In the next 10 hours I worked on a MC application for New Zealand (until 10 a.m. next day), which was the reason I stayed for one more day in Mariupol. I was so tired at sunrise that I filmed me sideways (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTV1yO3I1gw )
Later the next day day, I took the bus back for Odessa, a lovely 14 hour bus trip.
At 8 a.m. I arrived in Odessa, and Tuha was there to greet me. She spent half the day with me, even though it was her birthday!! Love you girl!!!, and the other half of the day I was with Olya and Valeria!
Let me just start by saying, that while visiting Odessa I really felt like I was back in Vienna!!! It was an incredibly fun ride, and the city is very beautiful!!! Visited an art museum, I`ll make a separate post about the painter over there, ate some traditional Ukrainian food (forgot the name, but it was GREAT), saw the Second most beautiful opera house in Europe, and the Philharmonic. While walking around the city center, I was just amazed at how symmetric the streets were, and of the little park every building had. Odessa is only about 200 years old, yet it really transmits a sens of history and culture.
Special thanks for Tuha, Olya and Valeria for showing me around town this day, it was really really awesome!
Also, on a more personal and special note, special thanks for Valeria, whom gave me a gift I won`t soon forget. Seeing how my cheap ipod headphones were broken, she just gave me, as a gift, my first set of ORIGINAL Ipod headphones. I nearly cried!!! Love you Valeria!!!
The evening ended at Anna Soloid`s house, where I stayed for the night. She is the new president for AIESEC in Odessa. Needles to say we stayed up until 3 talking about AIESEC, our impact and reasons for existing, and sharing stuff we use. These are the days of our lives!
We also ate some weird small sea animals. Funny taste
. In a nice way.
Next day I took the bus back for Chisinau, where I also spent another day, but we`ll talk about Chisinau in a later post.
Two weeks ago, when I was packing my bags for this new adventure, I had no idea what I was going to find. I just want to take this moment to really thank all of you incredible people whom took care of me, made me fall in love with Ukraine!!
Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart, and I`m looking forward to seeing you all again, in different parts of the world, or maybe back in Ukraine!
Have a great week,
Hugs from Chisinau,
Alex

Your post remind me of a motto of mine that sounds like this: “Don’t think what <Liga Studentilor Electronisti> can do for you. Think what you cand do for <Liga Studentilor Electronisti>.
It’s from an american way of life, but i think it works very well for us, also.
Thanks, Corrected it
