New Horizons … Ukraine – One AIESEC
Ever since I created this blog, I`ve been waiting for this moment. The moment when I`m going to make my first post about a special moment in my life. The right moment to start writing about them!
That moment is now.
It`s Sunday, and I`ve just finished my first international conference (outside of Romania). It`s New Horizons – biggest AIESEC conference in Ukraine, and my role was facilitator for the Leadership track.
It is my 29th conference in AIESEC, and it has been, actually by far, the most fun-challenging-rewarding-immersive-incredible! Now don`t get me wrong, I`ve had some memorable conferences so far, that will always stay in my heart, TTX`09, NPS`07, Iashington`08 etc.
But this was different, and I was different, and it was exactly what I needed.
THANK You (in chronological order):
- Olga, for being there for me in Chisinau, and showing me the city, helping with the interview and everything!!! means a lot, and see you soon!
- Kostea, Dima and Olya and Denis – for hosting me in Odessa, driving my ass around town, and again, being there for me, helping me get around Odessa and being very hospitable!
- Angelica, for picking me up at the bus stop at 7 in the morning, being very friendly the whole conference, and right now hosting me in Mariupol for one more day! I will never let anyone think that eastern Ukraine (or Ukraine in general) is not hospitable!!! (look back and smile
)
- Nico, am uitat cum e sa schimbi 2 cuvinte in romana cand toti din jurul tau vorbesc in engleza, rusa sau ukrainiana. Esti un Conference Manager foarte tare, imi place cum lucrezi si gandesti! Mersi pentru sfaturi! Si ne vedem in India!
- 140 (official number) incredible delegates. I have never seen so many shouts or roll-calls per coffee break!!! You guys know how to party!
- 30 members on the leadership plenary – you guys challenged us, and motivated us each day to give our best! Thank you for providing us this great learning experience and feedbacks, and we, the “fachis” hope we reached your expectations!
- Alec, Sebastian and Soarec. You guys are by far the craziest room mates in the world, the best fun in the room I`ve ever had, and it was an honor to freeze with you! Send me the Youtube link for my dancing Kalasnikov
)))), and see you at the next conference!
- Thanks Bob for the lanyard, and for calling Sami! Missed that bastard`s voice!!! You were an excellent chair, and I can`t imagine NH Spring`10 without you chairing it!!!
- Boyana – thanks for the badge, and for listening / sharing! and for being the best delegate on the whole damn track!!! You`ve done a great job in positioning Bulgaria!!
Last and most of all, Hulk, Mary, Tuha, Budgie and Vania. A honest and deep thank you for being the best faci team I`ve worked in so far! I know we`re gonna see each other again in the future! Love you guys, really!
New Horizons 2010. Different language, completely new people, the same life-changing AIESEC. Thank you for giving me exactly what I needed!
See you guys next time!
